Oba Adewala Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi is the 16th Oluwo of iwo land in Osun state.

He is one of the childhood friends of the current Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. He ascended the throne in November 2015 and is married to Jamaican woman Chin, daughter of rastafarian raggae artist Ludlow Chin.

The oba and his olori met in Canada where he resided before his ascension to the throne. The royal couple welcomed their son last week after the months of the queen carrying a heavy stomach around the kingdom. The precious child was welcomed to the world in a hospital in Canada.

The first child of the royal couple was welcomed with joy and celebration and was named Prince Oduduwa. According to Yoruba Myth, Oduduwa is one of the divinities of the Yoruba land. It means and stands for several things; Oduduwa represents omnipotence, the ability to affect and reconstruct the physical reality at will.

What a powerful name for the newly born prince. Congratulation to HRH.

So Tragic! Stray Bullets Kill Pregnant Woman, Six Others Injured As Hoodlums Clash In Lagos

A deadly gang led by one Itakun, has shot dead a pregnant woman, identified only as Iya Abdulsalam, while six others sustained gunshot injuries after hoodlums stormed Jebba Street in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State in the past weekend at about 9pm during an attack to members of a factional group at a drinking joint. According to a report by Punch Metro, the hoodlums were said to have shot into the air to announce their presence during which a stray bullet hit Iya Abdulsalam, two siblings – Gbenga and Olaoluwa – and four others. It was learnt that the woman who had visited her husband’s brother in the area when the bullet hit her, other victims, were rushed to a health centre in the community, where she was confirmed dead, while others were said to be responding to treatment.
